Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the AI analysis?

Speakeazy achieves incredible accuracy in character identification and dialogue attribution. Complex manuscripts with unusual formatting (often found in very old, or very avant-garde literature) may require some manual corrections, but you'll still save hours compared to marking up scripts by hand. The AI flags uncertain attributions so you can quickly review and correct them.

Can I try Pro features before committing?

Absolutely! Start a 14-day free trial of Pro. Use all Pro features on real projects, and only continue if it transforms your workflow (we're confident it will).

What file formats does Speakeazy support?

Speakeazy works with .TXT and .DOCX files—the formats most commonly used for manuscripts and scripts. Simply upload your file and the AI begins analysis immediately.

How long does analysis take?

Not gonna lie, most full-length books will take a few hours for complete, pro-level analysis. For example, The Great Gatsby would take just under 2 hours. When we analyzed The Count of Monte Cristo, ~2.6M characters, (one of the longest books ever written) it took almost 22 hours (we will continue to optimize this). The good news is it's set-it-and-forget-it, so you can start working on other things (like sleep, dinner, or a movie) while it's analyzing. You don't even need to keep your computer on.

Is my content secure?

Yes. All files are encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your content with third parties or use it to train AI models. Your manuscripts remain your property.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, no contracts or commitments. Cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.

I'm a full-time narrator—is Pro really worth it?

Pro analysis typically pays for itself on your first project. At $9/month (or $72/year) plus analysis costs, you need to save less than 60 minutes per project to break even (assuming standard narration rates). Most narrators report saving 10-20+ hours per project. The ROI is substantial.
