Nonlinear Media, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company doing business as Speakeazy (“Speakeazy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is the controller of the personal information described in this policy and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our audiobook and voice-over script preparation platform. Please read this policy carefully. By accessing or using Speakeazy.pro, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Speakeazy is operated from Dallas, Texas, United States. Our service is designed for professional voice actors, narrators, and audiobook producers, and is not intended for users under the age of 18.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your name and email address.
Payment Information: When you purchase a subscription or make a payment, we collect payment details through our payment processor, LemonSqueezy. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
Project Content: When you create or update projects, we collect the manuscript text you upload (in .DOCX, .TXT or .PDF format), character profiles, project metadata, and organizational information.
Voice Recordings: When you use our voice recording features, we store voice samples you record for character voice references.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform.
Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access our service, including device type, operating system, and browser type.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies for functional purposes (such as keeping you logged in) and to improve your experience on our site. See Section 7 for more details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve our script analysis, character identification, dialogue attribution, and other core features.
- AI-Powered Analysis: To process your uploaded manuscripts through our AI systems for character identification, dialogue attribution, and chapter detection.
- Account Management: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide customer support.
- Payment Processing: To process your payments and manage your subscription.
- Communication: To send you service-related notifications, updates, and support messages.
- Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our platform's functionality and user experience.

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
We rely on third-party providers for hosting, storage, AI analysis, payments, email and error monitoring. Each processes personal data or your content on our behalf and only to deliver the Service.
Our Subprocessors page lists every one of them — what each receives, why, and where it is located. The providers that handle your manuscript text are Vercel, Neon, Anthropic and Modal.
Important: we access Claude through Anthropic's Commercial Terms, under which “Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services.” We do not permit any provider on that list to use your content for their own purposes or to train models on it.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
4.3 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data, including manuscripts, character profiles, and voice recordings, is securely stored in the cloud using encrypted storage. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
5.1 If something goes wrong
If we learn of a personal-data breach that is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you without undue delay, and we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it where the law requires. The notice will say what happened, what data was involved, what we have done about it and what you can do.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Wherever you are, you can access, correct, export and delete your personal information. Depending on where you live you have additional rights; we honour all of them for everyone, because it is simpler than keeping track. Most of it is self-serve:
- Access and portability: download a copy of everything stored in your account as one JSON file from Settings → Profile, on any plan.
- Correction: update your name, email and preferences in Settings.
- Deletion: delete your account and everything in it — projects, characters, voice recordings, images — from Settings → Profile. A subscription we hold a payment reference for is cancelled at the same time; if yours is still being set up, cancel it from the LemonSqueezy customer portal or ask us.
- Withdrawing consent: turn analytics off at any time on the Your Privacy Choices page. Withdrawing does not affect processing that already happened.
- Restriction and objection: you can ask us to restrict processing, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests, using the request form.
- Opting out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out from analytics regardless of any earlier choice.
- No automated decisions: we make no decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. The AI analysis is about your manuscript, not you.
For anything else — or if you do not have an account, for example because your name appears in a manuscript someone else uploaded — use the request form on Your Privacy Choices or email support@speakeazy.pro. We respond within 28 days (45 for California residents), confirm the request came from you before acting on it, and never charge for a request or treat you differently for making one.
If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland and are unhappy with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use two kinds of cookies and similar browser storage, and we ask before using the second:
- Essential: keeping you signed in (
session_token, and a copy of the same token in your browser's local storage for when cookies are unavailable), protecting forms against forgery (csrf), your “remember me” choice, your theme and reading preferences, how you last sorted a project's characters, and your cookie choice itself. The site cannot work without these and they are set without asking; none of them is used to track you. - Analytics and performance: Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and browser-side error reporting (Sentry). These process your IP address and browser details. None of them collect or send anything until you allow them on the banner shown on your first visit — the analytics scripts are not loaded at all, and the error-reporting library, which is part of the page, sends nothing. You can change your answer at any time on the Your Privacy Choices page. Your choice is kept for twelve months.
We honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal: if your browser sends it, analytics stay off, we do not ask, and we record that as your answer. We use no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no third-party marketing pixels.
8. Children's Privacy
Speakeazy.pro is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as the purpose it was collected for requires, and these are the periods:

Where the law requires us to keep something longer — payment records for tax purposes, or a record of a legal claim — we keep only what that obligation covers, for as long as it lasts.
10. International Users and Data Transfers
Speakeazy is operated from the United States, and the providers on our Subprocessors page store and process data there. If you use the service from the EU, UK or Switzerland, your personal information is transferred to the United States. We do not rely on your consent for these transfers; each transfer to a provider rests on one of the following safeguards:
- the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), where the provider is certified under it; or
- the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), incorporated in the provider's data processing terms.
Ask us which safeguard applies to a particular provider and we will tell you, and provide a copy of the relevant clauses where we can.
Nonlinear Media, LLC has no establishment in the EU or the UK. Where Article 27 of the GDPR (or its UK equivalent) requires us to appoint a representative there, we will publish their details on this page; until then, please direct any request to support@speakeazy.pro.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the service after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
